At Forte Construction, community service is not just a principle; it's a commitment we carry in every project. Three years ago, we initiated the "Staff Picked Charity Contest" to foster philanthropy within our organization. The 2023 winner is Troop 6000 of the Girl Scouts of Greater New York, an impactful program supporting families in temporary housing within NYC's shelter system.
Carlos Lopez, a Forte project manager, nominated Troop 6000, inspired by his wife, Miriam Rayward, a Girl Scouts volunteer. Joined by Forte VPs Stephanie Hudson and Jeffrey Cardillo, they recently presented a $10,000 donation to Troop 6000 at a Queens shelter.
"We're proud to contribute to Troop 6000's growth," shared Hudson. "As former Scout leaders, we understand the dedication it takes to inspire young minds. Our deepest gratitude to the troop leaders."
Cardillo added, "May this contribution be a stepping stone to your dreams. Each of you has the potential to make a difference. May your scouting journey be filled with adventures, friendships, and valuable skills."
Beyond the ceremony, the impact resonates in Girl Scouts' weekly meetings across city shelters. Each week, Girl Scouts engage in activities that help them forge new friendships, earn badges, and develop their leadership skills. Forte's donation will provide uniforms, badges, essential supplies, fund field trips, support leaders, and offer scholarships for those in need.
Forte Construction is honored to play a part in shaping a brighter future for the incredible individuals of Troop 6000.
