29th CMAA Annual Project of the Year Award Ceremony

CMAA Ceremony Attendees Posing for Photo

Forte Construction is thrilled and honored to be recognized at the 29th Annual Project of the Year Award Ceremony by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Metro New York/New Jersey Chapter. This ceremony honored New York’s Construction Projects of the Year and had a keynote address by NYC Department of Design and Construction Commissioner Thomas Foley.

Our project, the Livonia Avenue Station on the Canarsie Line in Brooklyn, NY, was named 2022 Project of the Year in the $10 - $60 million category at the ceremony. The extensive renovations, implemented by project team Citnalta TAP JV (TAP Electric, an affiliate of Forte Construction Corp.), brought the station serving Brownsville and East New York fully compliant with Americans with Disabilities (ADA) guidelines. This achievement is a testament to the team's expertise and commitment to excellence.

The project team included Construction Manager HDR and Design/Builder Citnalta TAP JV, a joint venture between Citnalta Construction Corp. and TAP Electric. Gannett Fleming and Urbahn Architects were engaged as the designers for the project. All were reporting to MTA Construction and Development.

The Livonia Avenue Station in Brooklyn is now fully accessible to people with disabilities, thanks to installing two new elevators, a new passageway above the tracks, and other ADA-compliant improvements. This project is part of the MTA's ongoing efforts to make our transit system more accessible to everyone.
