Forte Construction was honored to attend the successful home dedication of the Habitat for Humanity project in Brentwood, Long Island – where some of our team members recently volunteered alongside many dedicated individuals to help bring this vision to life.
The 1,600-square-foot home is now officially complete and ready for its new owners, thanks to the collective efforts of Habitat for Humanity of Long Island, local partners, and an impressive 175 volunteers! This home is especially significant as it is Habitat for Humanity’s first 3D-printed house, constructed by the innovated Max Autonomous Robotic Construction System (ARCS) by SQ4D, a Long Island-based 3D printing company.
For this event, the community gathered for a heartfelt dedication ceremony to celebrate the completion of the home and to welcome the new homeowners. The event was truly special, featuring speeches from local elected officials, representatives from Habitat for Humanity and SQ4D, and the new homeowners, who expressed their immense gratitude for the project that will change their lives forever.
The home’s 3d-printed concrete construction was highlighted during the ceremony as a major breakthrough in homebuilding. The use of concrete not only ensures durability and longevity but also provides significant protection against disasters such as fires and floods. With its resistance to extreme weather and environmental factors, the home is built to stand the test of time, offering peace of mind to its occupants for generations to come.
A memorable moment of the ceremony was the presence of SQ4D’s robotic friend, which was presented as an opportunity for attendees to interact with the sort of high-tech technology that the company is using to revolutionize home building.
The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting and the passing-along of the keys, officially marking the new chapter for the family that will call this home their own. For us at Forte Construction, it was a privilege to be a part of this innovative and impactful project, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Habitat for Humanity in the near future!
