Forte Construction Corp. Supports Future Engineers with New Scholarship at The Cooper Union

We are thrilled to announce the creation of the Forte Construction Corp. Scholarship at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City. This initiative underscores our dedication to supporting education and philanthropy, particularly within the engineering field.

Valued at $100,000, the Forte Construction Corp. Scholarship will provide financial support to a four-year undergraduate student at The Albert Nerken School of Engineering at The Cooper Union. The scholarship aims to identify a recipient who has a strong interest in Construction and/or Construction Management.

President Larry Pappas, a 1998 graduate of The Cooper Union, expressed his personal connection: “The Cooper Union has played a significant role in my life, and that of my family, allowing us to pursue a foundational education in engineering and construction—a passion that we now channel into the work we do at Forte Construction.”

He added, “Shaping and educating the next generation of engineers is more important now than ever when the nation’s expansive infrastructure needs are expected to reach upwards of $2.6 trillion over the next 10 years. Forte Construction is proud to play a part in that.”

Larry Pappas’ brother and Forte Construction CFO, Nick Pappas, graduated from The Cooper Union in 2002, while Larry’s son continues the family tradition, currently a sophomore at the college.

Stephanie Hudson, Vice President, highlighted Forte Construction’s commitment to philanthropy: “Forte Construction has long believed in the importance of giving back, and we are honored to be able to support our partner’s alma mater with a scholarship that will create opportunity for the next generation of construction leaders.”

This scholarship is part of Forte Construction’s broader efforts to enhance STEM education access. In the last two years, we have also supported the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and their Engineering & Construction camps, which have awarded over 200 scholarships to aspiring young engineers.

We are proud to support The Cooper Union and are committed to nurturing the development of tomorrow’s engineering and construction leaders!
